During my morning beach walk Gabrielle was already making her presence known.
The sea was churned up with foamy chunky swells. Periodic rain squalls felt good since we haven't had any rain here for several months. Rory, my Irish Setter pup, hasn't quite figured out rain yet except to know that he doesn't like it. He know longer minds getting wet in the surf, but rain is a different matter. He spent quite a bit of the walk running around looking for cover to escape the rain, but its difficult to find cover on the beach. We've now got sunshine and 15-20 mph winds but the center of the storm is still well to the south of us. We aren't expecting a whole lot in any case, just another squally day on Hatteras Island.
