I happened to look over this blogs history and found out an interesting fact. There are still certain topics that people respond to. When I write about sensitive topics, such as religion or politics, I am sure to get a response.
I am involved in several daily blogs and during this time of the year politics is a hot topic.
I'm amazed with the number of individuals whom still blindly support a particular political affiliation. I, for one, have come to the conclusion that there is little difference between the modern Democrat and Republican and so therefore no longer have allegiance to a particular party.
I believe that our recent history has proven that a candidate's loyalty applies to their office and loyalty to their parties platform. They will say anything to a particular group in order to garner their particular vote. Once in office, the elected official does anthing they can to gaurantee their next term and often that involves voting the party line for a particular cause. Notice that I have not included loyalty to their constituents as a factor for either their election nor re-election.
It's far past time for the individual to cast their vote for the most qualified candidate, instead of voting blind loyalty to a party.
I'm in hopes that this next election will show a turn in the tide. I hope that we will display loyalty to our country instead of political affiliation.
