As I have written this week, we are still under the influence of the storm off Florida.
I walked the beach as the moon rose last night with my dog. The moon was perhaps a quarter full and I was struck by it's appearance as it rose out of a cloud bank over the ocean. As it progressed through the cloud bank it was robin egg blue. The old say "Once in a blue moon" came immediately to mind. I've see enough moons rise that this was a very unusual situation. It was unique enough that I do believe if I ever saw one before I would have remembered it. As the moon continued to rise and eventually became overhead the coloring slowly diminished and the moon took on it's typical white hue. I was glad I had a chance to see it happen and I won't forget last night's moon.
